THOMSASVILLE, N.C. — Case goods and upholstery manufacturer and distributor Whitewood Industries has expanded its operations again with the acquisition of another warehouse in Thomasville, North Carolina, just one mile from their main headquarters.
The 78,000-sq.ft. facility, formally owned by Heritage Home LLC, will take the company’s total operational footprint to 578,000 sq. ft. Whitewood Industries employs 250.
This marks the second expansion for the Thomasville-based company in only one year and is part of the company’s long-term plan to satisfy customer demand with strengthened inventory levels and improved ship times.
Jorge Mata, Whitewood Industries CEO, explained that the expansion was an ideal move for the company as it was already exploring building additional warehousing when the opportunity for the new building, located at 1425 Unity Street, presented itself. The property is large enough for the company’s current warehousing needs and provides enough property for the company to expand as needed.
“We are very excited about this acquisition. The Thomasville location is ideal, the facility gives us room to grow, and it will allow us to offer improved service to our customers,” said Mata.
The company has already begun to operate out of the newly acquired facility and anticipates adding up to forty additional employees over time.
